Mayamiko Child Care Centre is solely supported by charitable donations, the majority of which come from international supporters who believe in our mission.
We are proud to have a long-standing partnership with Kenyawi Kids, a Scottish registered charity supporting sustainable orphan care in Malawi. Kenyawi Kids has been instrumental in helping us manage donations from the UK, ensuring that funds are used effectively to support the children in our care. In addition, we are also in partnership with Hopeful Hearts, a Malawian charity that shares our commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children. Together, these partnerships enable us to provide a safe, nurturing environment where our children can thrive.

Monthly Operational Costs
Running Mayamiko Child Care Centre is a significant operational feat, and it requires substantial funds to keep everything functioning smoothly each month. Below is a breakdown of our monthly costs, which cover everything from food and utilities to staff salaries and educational resources. Your support helps us maintain the high standard of care that our children deserve.
School Fees
For the older children we support, we send them to boarding school to ensure they receive a tailored education that meets their needs. This involves termly costs for transport, groceries, and boarding fees. Currently we have 8 children at boarding school.
To support 1 child:

Development projects
Our current development efforts are focused on a vital goal: raising the funds needed to purchase the property where Mayamiko Child Care Centre is located. At the moment, we are renting the property, which takes a significant portion of our monthly budget and limits our ability to make necessary structural changes to better accommodate the children.
By purchasing the property, we would gain the freedom to make crucial renovations that would greatly enhance the living conditions and overall experience for our children. Our initial plans include expanding the building to add more bedrooms, an office, a playground, and volunteer housing. Owning the property would also give us much greater flexibility for future developments, such as increasing our capacity to care for older children on-site and potentially creating a section for young mothers and their babies.
